AI Model Providers
Last updated: July 22, 2026
DuoExpert does not train or run its own AI models. When you ask your agent to do something, the relevant part of your workspace is sent to one of the model providers below to generate the response. This page lists every provider we currently route to and where each is established, because that determines where your data goes.
Current providers
| Provider | Models | Established in |
|---|---|---|
| Anthropic | Claude | United States |
| OpenAI | GPT | United States |
| xAI | Grok | United States |
| Z.ai (Zhipu AI) | GLM | China |
| MiniMax | MiniMax | China |
How a provider is chosen
You choose the model for a conversation from the model picker in the app, and that choice determines the provider. Two cases are decided by us rather than by you, and because they are not your choice we keep both on providers established in the United States or the European Union:
- The default model. If you have not picked one, we use our current default.
- Image understanding. If you attach an image to a conversation whose model cannot read images, that turn is handled by a separate vision model, which may be from a different provider than the one you picked.
This page is the reference for which provider stands behind each model, and where it is established.
Where this leaves your data
Some providers above are established in countries the European Commission has not found to offer an adequate level of data protection — currently China. You are never routed to one of these unless you pick it. The model picker names the provider and the country behind every model, and the first time you choose one established in such a country we ask you to confirm you understand where your content would go. Only the content needed to generate the response you asked for is sent. If you would rather your work never reached a provider in a particular country, pick models from providers established elsewhere.
Training on your content
Our agreements with Anthropic and OpenAI prohibit them from training their models on content sent through their APIs, and neither retains it beyond a short abuse-monitoring window. We are confirming the equivalent terms with the remaining providers on this list and will state the outcome here rather than leave you to assume it. We never train models on your content ourselves — we do not build models.
Changes to this list
We add and remove model providers as the field moves. This page is the current record, and the date above reflects the latest revision. If you rely on the Service under a data processing agreement with us, we will give you notice before a new provider starts handling your content, so that you have the opportunity to object. To receive those notices, write to contact@duoexpert.ai.
Other service providers
Providers that support the Service but do not process your workspace content for AI generation — hosting, authentication, payments, and email — are listed in section 3 of the Privacy Policy.
